I have a strong background in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) which is a research based, solutions focused approach to helping clients learn to manage their emotions and solve problems. Research has shown CBT to be as effective as medication for the treatment of all types of anxiety and depression and as such it is considered the ‘gold standard’ psychological treatment.  I also work using ACT, narrative therapy and solutions focused therapy which all also have solid research supporting their effectiveness.
